Rees and Robert Trent Jones, and Jack Nicklaus, and Gary
Player and Robert Cupp, and George and Tom Fazio, and Davis Love III, and
Arnold Palmer, Pete Dye and Arthur Hills, to name a few. Even with all
the other reasons to come to this island destination, nearly 1/3 of the
2.5 million annual visitors to Hilton Head come here for the golf as a
primary attraction.
Since 1969 Harbour Town, in Sea Pines Plantation, has been host to the
PGA Tour event (known for years as the Heritage Classic) known today as
the Verizon Heritage tournament. Harbour Town Golf Links is famous for
the 18th hole. That one amazing hole where golfers stand on the cusp of the Calibogue Sound and play into the
red and white stripes of the iconic Lighthouse.
Come and join the fun. Immerse yourself in the beauty and annual tradition of the Verizon Heritage tournament held every April.
