swingle singers

The Swingle Singers

January 30th - 7:30pm at Holy Family Catholic Church. Whether its Bach or big band, the Beatles or bossa nova, the Swingle Singers can sing it-and with no instrumental accompaniment. These eight exceptionally talented vocalists from London have been making music for more than four decades, winning multiple Grammy Awards in the process. Relying on characteristics common to both jazz and baroque music-rhythm and improvisation-the Swingle Singers create a smooth, easy-listening sound hailed by critics as “nothing short of extraordinary”.
Their expansive discography of 50 albums and CDs features complicated, technically impressive a cappella covers of pop songs, jazz standards, classical music, even opera. The latest incarnation of the octet is currently touring throughout the United Kingdom, Iceland, Germany, Italy, Portugal, the Ukraine and the United States where they will make a stop on Hilton Head Island for an exclusive, one-night only performance.
